Am I losing my mind???

Am I losing my mind???

My current diagnosis is actually Narcolepsy. The only symptom I have that correlates with this is the fatigue. I have had symptoms for a little over 10 years. Until last year I never payed close attention to what I was feeling. I lost vision in my left eye and the fatigue hit me hard. They just kept upping and upping my adderall. I've had ongoing spinal issues for 2 years. My neurologist just laughed at me and said no you don't have MS because my brain scan was clear. They have never checked… read more

I am famous for prefacing almost everything I say to people with"I don't know if I told you this or asked you this ,or did I just think this" I almost never know if I just thought something or said it". Talk about losing your mind! I had the symptom of the day or week all the time! I was sure that I had lost all my marbles! I didn't,just have MS and other Autoimmune disorders.

@A MyMSTeam Member Girl you need a new nero. It sounds as if you are living in hell...With todays medicine there is no need for you to live like that. Seek another Dr and copy what you wrote and give it to the new Dr. I wish you well in your quest to better health and a Dr who looks for the answers and treats them, one who is more empathic to what you are going through daily. Let us know what you find out, in our thoughts and prayers.

@A MyMSTeam Member I know I'm messed up but I actually felt relieved by this diagnosis because it meant I wasn't losing my mind.... 😕

I would definitely go to a major institute with a well known MS center and have a full workup done. It can take a long time to get a correct workup and a correct diagnosis. Don't ever let the Doctor's make you feel diminished, you have too many red flags flying to say that there is nothing wrong. It may not be MS but it is definitely something! Don't give up.

Oenita thank you. :) I drive but only at set times. I'm a single momma and have to work. But my boyfriend does all driving outside of me going to work. I have very few friends and the ones I have understand my situation. I don't drive at night either. So you have MS and Narcolepsy? No I haven't been tested for ALS. They thought that initially but my symptoms were too mild I guess. But I'm now pushing with the referral to MS specialist. I have bounced back in forth because I thought there's something wrong well maybe not I'm fine and then yes. I'm just going for it. I'm not going to listen to doctors anymore telling me I'm fine. Did you have brain lesions?
