I've had Type 1 Diabetes for a little bit over 21 years now, and just recently god diagnosed with MS. It would be great to talk to people in the same boat, juggling one disease was enough work, now this. I'm supposed to be starting Tecfidera soon, I'm hoping it doesn't make my blood sugars go all over the place.

Just FYI...the few folks I know who are Type 1 and tried Tecfidera had low blood sugars at first. So watch for that.

In MY case, though, my blood sugars ended up REALLY HIGH multiple times (like going to bed at 121 and waking up to 550) so I had to stop the Tecfidera. That happened once I moved to the full dose (you start at a half dose for a week). So BE CAREFUL!!!! I'm going to start on Gilenya next month.

As a diabetic and MS-fatigue is common. I am continually dealing with it so when I am having a good day-I go for it, whatever "it" is. I rested a lot yesterday so my partner and our Springer can go clam digging today with a minus 2 1/2 feet tide. I love low tides-because it's super easy harvesting. So today is a go for it day. Clams and mussels for supper tonight!

I have been a Type 1 since 1977, was diagnosed w/MS in 2010. I also have a genetic movement disorder. I am looking into AVIG therapy for all these autoimmune disorders but I need better sugar control so they(Dr.'s) are thinking about an insulin pump. Lots to think about but I am not a quitter.
