Almost my entire corpus collosum has been an big active lesion. Initially, it was the back portion that was active then in February it was nearly the entire frontal area of it that was showing as an active lesion. I have others on my brain but they are not the areas of concern to my doc. I also have lesions on my spine - and a follow up MRI being scheduled to check for more. However, I keep reading that many of you have TONS of lesions on either side of your brain. Is it uncommon to have… read more
I do in both areas. I have to say it has affected my ability to think clearly, so I don't drive anymore. I think I am probably as bad as a mildly inebriated person, so it is better if I don't as I spend my life in a constant state of a one-too-many-buzz. The spine lesions cause vibration in areas of my body, diaphragm spasms and a very slow heart rate on occasion (from what I understand).
I also have lesions in the corpus callosum and the cingulate gyrus along with other areas. Have been fortunate with minimal increased lesions over the years. Just had a new MRI in April with "a small area of additional lesions" per the phone call I received from my neurologist's nurse. I picked up actual radiologist's report so that I could get the results. The MRI was of both the brain and cervical spine. The report for the cervical spine indicated slow flow of the right internal jugular vein. CCVIS? Need to find a MS Specialist in the area.
I am sorry to here this. I said a prayer for you.
@NeilsD, I had read about that test before and forgotten about it (imagine that!). I will have to try that! Thanks for sharing!
I too have one in my corpus callosum and one in my cervical spine. The one in my spine causes me the most issues. My ring and pinky fingers on both hands have been numb/tingling for a year now.
I've been trying to find out what exactly having a lesion in your corpus callosum that means in the MS world. I even tried the test where you have someone touch a finger on one hand and you try to match it by touching the finger with you thumb on the other... I failed. http://mindhacks.com/2008/01/21/test-your-corpu...
