If you have, did you fully recover? How long did you have it? Before or after you were diagnosed with MS?

My mom said when I was about 8 yrs old I had a mild case that lasted 2 weeks, but she could not remember which side it was on...Last August over 24 hrs I lost complete function of the left side of my face! Its now coming up on a year and I have recovered 90% but I fear my smile will never be the same.. and I still cannot raise my left eyebrow!!! Super frustrating. I had been diagnosed for 2 yrs prior to the Bells, the neuro doesn't know if it came on purely as an MS relapse or some other phenomenom. Thanks all for yor input!

I had facial numbness on and off on the right side of my face for two years that was said to have been Bell's. With my last onset I also lost the vision in my right eye. After seeing 3 eye drs for possible optic neuritis they referred me to Cleveland Clinic where I was diagnosed with MS. The numbness always went away with steroids, even before my MS diagnosis. Thankfully the dose of IV steroids at the clinic also brought back my vision. Now it only goes bad when I get hot and seems to go back to normal as I cool off. In a way without the Bell's I do not know that they would have caught my MS diagnosis so soon.

I began having slurred speech and what felt like the right side of my face swelling. I let it go for a couple of days then went to my family doctor. She diagnosed it as "Bell's Palsy". It was prior to my MS dx. It continued about 3 weeks. That was 5 years ago. I still, sometimes have to concentrate on speaking clearly. My face recovered completely. About 6 months later, I got optic Neuritis. It didn't take long for the MS dx.

I had it before I had any other symptoms or was diagnosed with MS. Yes, I fully recovered after 2/3 weeks.

About 8 years or so before DX. Lasted a couple of months.
