my neuro says it's believed that fibro is most likely a symptom of MS.
I had severe pain (level 10) in my right arm up to 6 times a day and up to an hour in length for 2 years with little help from traditional pain meds. My doctor suggested that I go on Tegretol (both chewables (100 mg - 1 or 2 as needed) and regular (200 mg - i in the AM and 2 at night). I no longer have the pain. I did recently have a hospital stay where they failed to give me this med and the pain returned until I started taking the Tegretol again. Good luck.
My doctor said the same thing, that is is a symptom of the MS! I have the pain and go to a pain management doctor.
It is my understanding that fibromyalgia is pain, fatigue, etc., without a root cause, to overly simplify the diagnosis. Have you been diagnosed with MS? If so, why would the diagnosis of fibromyalgia still be on the table? Just curious.
Thanks for all the input....
