My husband and I have decided to begin the road towards trying for a baby. I've been taking Gilenya and my neuro said I would need to be off of it for at least 3 months to have it fully flushed from my system. That being said, he then recommended I start on Copaxone. Copaxone and the beta meds are different. I loved Copaxone but found that I'm allergic to it. I refuse rebif bc of past mental health issues. I went onto Copaxone while nursing my daughter. She was 20 months and I had a relapse for the first time since her birth. I continued to nurse even on Copaxone and then avonex. Check out dr tom (or tim I get it mixed up sometimes) Hale. He's a pharmacologist and has studied a lot of the meds that most docs avoid giving advice on.

Call the Gilenya folks - they can advise you better than even the neurologist. The neurologist I saw told me the I wouldn't be able to take prednisone while on Gilenya. I called Gilenya and they said prednisone could be taken in certain low doses.

That's what I heard, which is why I'm trying to see how I can be proactive while off medication.

I don't know anything about the Immune System Recovery Plan. I did hear that MS goes into a kind of remission during pregnancy, but you have to be careful after you deliver . The MS can get worse.
