Botox Injections

A MyMSTeam Member asked a question 💭

I wondered if anyone has had the injections into their muscle to help with spasms? I've heard nothing positive about them.

Ihavebeendoing muscle injections for over a year and find them helpful. They only last for 3 months tho and are a little painful to get but not that bad. No increase in infections for me.

I was thinking about this myself. But when I got the proper catheter size it cut down on the spasms so I din't need the botox for now. I just read somewhere that the botox injection has only started in January of this year. I also found out that having this done will increase your infections by 20%. So I was really thinking about this and decided against it. Why would I want this and increase my infection rate. Plus you will have to keep doing this since it only lasts about 9 months.

Never had botox injections Try to stay away from taking any more meds than what Im already taking Stretching and Yoga seem to be very helpful for muscle spasm. Really important to keep on it as the spasms can come back.

I haven't, but I would like to know if they have helped others. If so, I'd be willing to try them! I get Botox every three months religiously for headaches and cannot live without them because of the severity of the headaches. Botox definitely helps the headaches. I don't know about other muscles. I'm having a procedure today and I'll ask my doctor and post what he tells me.
