Optic Neuritis And Balance
I have problems with optic neuritis and I have noticed my balance is much worse when I am having severe pain in my eye. Does anyone else have this problem or notice any difference in walking and balance
Tom, we are an accident waiting to happen! Let's turn this around. At least I'm still able to walk.its so hard to be positive though. I'm beginning to wander if my yearly depression isn't seasonal at all.. but instead it's cause is discouragement. Discouragement over not being in control over my own body!! I got a ride to church Sunday. It's a new church for me. The woman that gave me a ride started asking questions about my MS. Then she made the comment: You seem to be doing really well. I thought to myself, how misunderstood I am!! Sure I look fine... But I'm anything but fine!!!! Discouragement. Feelings of ambarrassment when I can't remember a word. Feelings of being misunderstood because I can't work anymore. Or drive anymore . MS sure takes alot out of my self confidence!!!!
For me balance is affected by sensory or lack of feeling in part of body especially feet
And
Vision changes or absence of light
And
Ear
.inner ear controls your balance. Ear infections also.
The combination of all three affect balance. Nobody needs to fall or get injuries.
My eyes run like I'm 😢ðŸ˜crying when I'm not. Every morning I have to wipe my eyes from dried on tears. Or fluid or whatever it is. I'm also having balance issues. I run into walls and walk like I just drank a 6 pack!! 😆 when I'm tired and it's towards the end of the day, I'm dizzy and my balance is much worse. I use my cane.damn MS. 🙃
When my eyes started to b crazy I immediately went to my doc at Wheaton Eye Clinic who immediately put me in hospital for IV steroid treatment. The immediate help made my eyes perfect. I would recommend anyone who even suspects an unusual problem to seek immediate help. My eyes r perfecto, doc is always happy it worked.
Brenda. Your the first person in many yrs to describe exactly what I've been dealing with for the past couple of yrs. Walking into walls. It's almost like a magnet pulls you into them. Walking near furniture is the same thing. I've falling over my own coffee table more times than I can count. One thing that drives me crazy is knocking things over. I wish I had a nickel for everytime I've knocked over my coffee, soda, etc. I could put my coffee on the other side of the room. And some how. I'll knock that cup over. I've just become so clumsy I get so mad at myself
