Has anyone had any success with massage therapy? What benefits did you have? How often do you go and what type of massage do you get?
Thanks in advance.
I have been gettung massages for about 10 years now. How often I go depends on how bad my pain and muscle spasticity is. One of my primary ongoing MS symptoms is muscle rigidity, cramping, tightness and spasticity (legs, back and neck mostly). I get deep tissue massage 1-2 times a week during more painful times and at least once every 2 weeks for maintenance. Provides a lot of benefit for me because it loosens up tight, sore muscles.
I benefit a great deal from massage. Since I can't afford a therapy session, by husband graciously rubs my feet and helps me stretch daily. We also joined a gym that offers 10 minute hydro-massage. The main benefit for me is that it reduces my spacicity and reduces my fatigue and emotional melt-downs.
I tried to go. Hard now being bedridden....so looking for massage therapists that do home visits.
They did "seem" to help some.
I massage my own muscles and do stretches. Exercise helps with some stiffness.
In Michigan Medicare found away to cover it some agencies found away around it
