My SSDI app was denied. Does anyone have suggestions re: a good attorney to retain for an appeal?

I was fortunate and was approved first try...but did have a great lawyer...liscenced in pa and ny ...where do u live?
Ok, then I would take everything you have an make an appt. that way they can look at what you have and let you know what else you need. In person is always best.
SSDI almost always gets denied the first time. Usually after the appeal it should go through. I personally think it's a scam between the Feds and the attorneys. What I find amazing, I know people who never worked a day in their life that are collecting.. Maybe we should all cross the border, change our names and sneak back in. Then we will get free everything. I'm going to go see an attorney Thursday. Because I know I will be denied even though my MS is getting worse everyday. I went for Copaxone straight to Tysabrl in 6 months time. And this is theCountry I decided to go fight for.
Do you know why you were denied? I would first make an apt with someone at the ss office and have them walk through why you were denied and what if anything you can do to be approved. Personally I would do that first before I involved a lawyer.
@A MyMSTeam Member yes, paperwork, paperwork and, wait for it, MORE PAPERWORK! I did my filing myself, as well. Saw their doctor on Jan 9th for an eval. Just got the denial letter yesterday (which was dated Jan. 27th). The clock is now ticking on the appeal. Apparently, SS Admin. gives you 60 days from the date of their letter to file an appeal. I have spoken to Binder and Binder. They conducted a phone interview to ensure I was a good candidate. Now, they are sending me a packet with, you guessed it, more paperwork! Good luck with yours and don't ever give up or give in!
