I would absolutely start the process as it can take a while. I applied about 10 months ago and just received the second denial. I am on long term disability through my work but SS said that they have different criteria so that does not matter but everyone has told me that it usually takes the first 2 to 3 rounds before they will approve and yes, like sunseeker said they do retroactively pay so it is worth your time to start now. Why would your neuro discourage you from applying? I would say apply ASAP! They pay a certain amount retroactively, from the date of your first application.

If your doctor says you have MS and your have a memory problems she should not have any problem getting put on disability. If I was you I'd call disability lawyer and get the process started. Especially if the doctor saying you can't work .

If you're still working you wouldn't get it. Your doctor really has to be on your side and say your not able to work and a disability lawyer will get you on disability. But sometimes it takes two times to get social Security disability. All relies on what your doctor puts in his notes as far as you being able to work or not.

I had a professional disability processor help me get my disability. I got it in less than a year. He also helped my sister get hers in less than a year. Better than the local lawyer because he's too busy. There are regulations in place that limit the amount they can charge. It was a crazy process!
