Hello, I was prescribed Plegridy but chose to stop taking the medication about a month ago. I did not like how sick it made me all the time. I know medication symptoms can be different for everyone but was just wondering if you do take one- which are you taking? and do you like it? I am very interested in switching to an oral medication but am just feeling hesitant about it. Please let me know what you choose to take. Thanks
I've been taking Tecfidera for over a year now. I had problems with flushing until I took aspirin with it. Otherwise, no problems.
I am on Tecfidera too. It's the first & only med I've been on. As long as I eat something when I take it I have had no issues. It's taken twice a day. I had a few flushing symptoms in the beginning but that is nothing to me compared to the "flu-symptoms" that alot of people get with other meds. I am happy so far :)
Oh yea, I tried Tysabri also. And Rebif. Hopefully this will be the last neurologist that decides to change things up. I feel mor confident on the Avonex as it is a tried and tested treatment, been around for years, and works for me. Just have to be mindful of side effects and keep in touch with doctor.
I feel like I have tried them all! Was started on Beta-Seron in 1996. Took that until about 2002 when I was switched to Copoxone. Sight reactions were awful. The switched me to Avonex. Took that for years but had too many crying spells doctor took me off that. Didn't take anything for couple of years then was approved by insurance for Glyenai (?) and had a heart attack. Couldn't take that then. The tried Tecfidera. Was having too many respiratory infections. The flushing I handled by taking a Benadryl with the medication. Stopped that but they kept sending it. Have bottles of it. Talked to Neurologist, new one, and since was most stable on Avonex I went back on that. When the crying spells start now I just know what they are and deal with it:(
Yes, I take Texfidera too. So far I have not had any issues with it other than the flushing from time to time. Overall, I would select Texfidera
