Does anyone have a catch in their fingers? I often wake up with my hands in a fist and the middle finger won;t straighten out without a lot of effort, or me straightening it out by grabbing it with the other hand. It kind of clicks into place. It happens mostly on the right hand but does happen to the left too.I was a driver for 20+ years and wonder if it has to do with holding on to the steering wheel so much. (which is recommended when driving)

When I first got diagnosed my left hand was numb in some fingers but I didn't think anything of it. It went away for a little while and then both hands went completely numb for about two weeks. My right hand works fine but I can still feel it in some of my left hand, middle finger is the worst. Typing takes way longer now and the dexterity of the entire hand is way off and weaker. I constantly make fists with both of my hands during the time I'm awake, I have to tell myself to stop doing it and it's a pain because you don't even know you're doing it.

I've had surgery for trigger finger on 3 different fingers. I found it to be very painful and the surgery is nothing. It's day surgery and not near as painful as the trigger fingers were. I don't think it has any thing to do with MS and they don't really know the cause. By the third one I didn't hesitate but went right away for the surgery. Mine was done by an orthopedic surgeon.

Mine don't ball up in fists, but the opposite, fingers straight. I go to pull the covers up in the middle of the night & my fingers won't bend to grasp. Only one that moves is my thumb. Really annoying. Great for duck shadow puppets though lol
