So I saw my neuro today. She thinks that my lesions may all be headache related and not actually MS now. I discussed my brain fog with her and she wants me to get an EEG and some kind psych test. She thinks that the EEG will show if there is another brain issue and that the psych test will let her know if I have anxiety among other things. I told her I know I already have anxiety so I'm not sure what she is trying to find.. Depending on the EEG and psych results she will either - 1. They all… read more
Thanks guys, I appreciate all of you for your help. @A MyMSTeam Member the headaches haven't been happening like they use to but I have still had much brain fog. My neuro thought that the headaches could be causing the brain fog but when I told her I haven't been having them she got concerned that it is possible another issue. A headache specialist told her that even headaches can cause brain lesions that look like MS. @A MyMSTeam Member I do have anxiety, headaches, and brain @A MyMSTeam Member That does sound good about the EEG. I would like to know if my thinking issues are because of a different reason. I wouldn't be surprised if fatigue were the cause actually because that's when I have most of my thinking problems. And thanks @A MyMSTeam Member, I am glad the test sound unbeatable! I want honest answers from it and will make sure to let them know when I need something else so as to not mess up the results.
@A MyMSTeam Member I hope they find some answers for you soon. The WORST part, is not actually knowing!...
@A MyMSTeam Member I actually already had spinal tap. The results were 2 o-bands. My neurologist felt a bit conflicted about it because her guidelines say more than 1 o-band is positive while another major hospital in the city considers 4+ o-bands as positive. All of my results were pretty much borderline. Bunches of lesions in my brain, questionable lesion in my C-spine, and 2 o-bands. No MS symptoms, just brain fog. @A MyMSTeam Member thanks for sharing all of that information. I'm surprised that you have all of those symptoms and he thinks something besides MS may be causing that. If I told my neurologist I had those she would definitely blame MS. I hope your cognitive thinking gets better! Mine seems to have gotten much better now that the weather here has changed and not been so hott. I don't know if that was my issue but it's strange. The brain fog comes and goes for me.
I'm getting ready to do the whole psych evaluation thing and it's supposed to tell you for sure if your brain fog is from age, MS, fatigue related issues, or mental issues or other medical issues.
EEG's are usually used to diagnose Epilepsy or see if a seizure was from already existing Epilepsy. I had an EEG done when I had a seizure in July but it came back 'abnormal' cuz I have MS. I know MS has a thing called 'cluster' headaches. Have you ever had an MRI? Ice pick headaches could be Trigeminal Neuralgia coming on @A MyMSTeam Member There are so many MS symptoms @A MyMSTeam Member Anxiety, headaches and brain fog is just a few. I not sure what your neuro is doing but CT scan would show other brain issues. What other issues are you experiencing? This must be frustrating and scary for you xo
