Problems Walking

A MyMSTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

My current walking has affected my walking and balance on my right side. Course of plasma exchange doesn't seem to have helped.

Has anyone has similar problems, any suggestions to help with this problem?..,,

I'm losing my balance often the only way I found to try to limit the falls is stay close to walls or big furnitures when inside and a walker outside, if it happens usually I'm not hurt so I use humour to explain what just happen. For example once I fell down the stairs just in front of my hubby he asked me what are you doing? I said I practising a new stunt was it good? I know it's not a big help but there is not much else to do....

I have a big balance problem, when I walk I look like a drunk even at 08:00... Here is how I react to it, if I start to have trouble in a public place, I say: they should play music it would look like I'm dancing or if there is music I will ask someone to dance with me... Everybody laugh and then they are ease to ask why... I live in a little town and I'm known as the lady with a cane because I have 17 of them (one for every occasion)... Don't be afraid of ridicule it never killed anyone... Plus here we have a saying: "Who is not worth a laugh is worth nothing... I have a walker, a wheelchair and a scooter depending on how I am I pick one... Keep laughing best medicine....

I know right. I just wonder how many people I've gotten in trouble for not cleaning the floor. :D

@A MyMSTeam Member - Before they got a patent for Ampyra people were, and some still are, taking what is called 4-AP. It can be purchased from a compounding pharmacy. It is the same drug, just not in a time release form. It is also much cheaper.
