I've been living with RRMS for almost 17 years I have one found ways to cope with physical limitations and symptoms but the one thing I find I am lacking is the emotional support where do you guys turn when you need shoulder to cry on or an ear to listen
Fortunately, I am a woman of faith, but I have a great support group in my husband, kids, extended family, church family and friends. This is a great site as well, and I feel that I'm able to say what I need to say, and people understand. Glad to be a part of this community.
I turn to music, go for a walk, try to just chat with my best friends from my hometown about happy memories we have shared. Don't dwell on it, I just take it for what it is and try to stay positive and hope and pray for the best! Hope this helps!!
We are all here to listen and help

I was diagnosed in 1995 it was a staggering blow. I was a singer and music teacher and lost my ability to sing. I was married to a narcissist. 14 years later, after 28 years of marriage, I realized it was dragging me down, I left and he filed for divorce, thinking I would beg to come back. During that time, I was also fighting discrimination in the workplace. It was a drain on me, but I won!
Exercise and/or physical therapy is extremely important and seeking a counselor or a support group during the tough times is a must. Depression is part of the disease and it too should be treated. I take sentraline for depression. I take nuvigel for energy in the morning.
I don't have a lot of close friends; but, I have a few incredible long term friendships and a few new friendships with people who I sense I can readily trust. I let go of friends or relatives that take my joy away and or diminish my worth in any way and love them from afar. I have a man in my life and we enjoy new experiences, especially traveling. It's an interesting love relationship because I can't speak clearly and he is hard of hearing! He has experienced the loss of his parents in a car accident, a child to cancer, the loss of his marriage and we travel together.
I volunteer for the MS Society, homeless shelters and enjoy gardening and my beautiful 2 year old grandson. Life is not easy; but, it's the only one we've got.
