Is anyone on disability (SSI) due to fatigue alone? I do not have ambulatory problems and only occasional hand issues but I get fatigued to the point where I end up unable to function for a day or two. I'm fearful of committing to a full time job but haven't tried. I get fatigue when I'm stressed or too active.

Your almost always denied the first time but always appeal . You have a disease that only progresses so you should get it . I filed in Feb 2009 and the whole process was over by Aug same year my optic nerve went out and they put me on ssi first and then 3 days after my appeal they changed it and granted me full disability . It is good if you have a good neurologist who know how to word everything and documents all . Good luck

I'll tell you some things I've been told. Rules of SSI is something I'm not sure of, but in general, the issue needs to be such that you cannot do any kind of work. And a doc and medical records needs to support it. For me, it was just one af many issues. It was my most debilitating, but the everyone focused on the other, more visable limitations. And, for me, I had issues at work and an employer that said what was happening was not OK on the job. I would talk to someone at SSI and ask them what kind of documentation they need. And then talk to your doc about getting that. I don't know if this helps, but I feel for you. The fatigue is ridiculous and so unpredictable. Sending prayer your way

I agree with Eric and Catherine about provigil, but when I have severe fatigue I can take it and go to sleep. But other days it helps

If you commit to full-time or part time job and it doesn't work and they let you go, then that would be proof that you should get disability. With ms you don't know if your going to have a bad day with M.S. until you wake up that morning.

Have a nice day. ๐Ÿ˜€

It took me 3 hrs to get social security disability. I have chronic fatigue, with left side weakness. A little bit of drop foot onon left foot. Pain in neck and back. Memory isn't the best. The second time I was not approved disabled , I got attorney and was approved 3rd time. Just Keep trying you will get it for your ms. Have your Dr. Keep documenting your disability symptoms and how it keeps you from doing things. Good luck. With the pain and limits with my chronic fatigue I just do one thing around house daily to keep up with everything....
