Ok, I had intermittent right ear pain and also intermittent right hearing loss (in the same time period but not necessarily at the same time. I saw an ENT. Hearing was likely due to the MS and he thought the pain was referred from an area within my jaw (not TMJ) that was inflamed from gritting my teeth. He recommended a night bite guard. But since I have insomnia, I chose to do jaw massage instead. It got better...for whatever reason. Of course the ENT did rule out true hearing deficits and infection too.

I have been experiencing the same thing. Mine is hyper sensitivity in the nerves in my jaw. I actually feel like I have an ear ache, tmj, and 10 tooth aches at once. I took heavy narcotics in the beginning. I would actually beat my head off the counter the pain was so bad. The narcotics didn't even take the edge off. That's when I realized this was the MS. Gabapentin and tegradol worked. It is so hart to determine if it's ms related or not.

Actually, an ear ache can travel down the neck through the eustanchian (sp?) tubes. As far as the jaw, not sure although I would think it could be the inflammation of the ear could be irritating the nerves going toward the jaw.
