I think the drug is called Ampyra. . At least that is the one I am taking. It really varies as to your physical reactions to Ampyra. In my case I was staggering around slowly with my rolling walker no matter when and within like three hours I was slowly walking around my house without a cane or walker. My Neuro said at an appt the next morning that my improvements were a best case scenario. For me, it really does a lot. . I began to understand why it is called the Walking Drug. It does not help with hear, cold or noise sensitivity, by my mobility improved three fold or more. . As long as I remember to take it. . And I have an alarm set so I don't forget, my mobility can only get better. For me, there are no side effects.

I took Ampyra when it was first approved by the FDA in US for years. I didn't really notice a big change in my mobility until I stopped it on my own. Slowly, I began to notice that my balance issues were returning, and I tripped more easily (drop foot). I have recently begun to use it again, mainly because I am less clumsy and fall less when I take it, but also because I have read of many anecdotal instances where it has shown to decrease heat intolerance, which is a huge issue for me.

I have been on Ampya for3 months now. Stopped taking because my hands started shaking / my speech and word were awful. Like wordfind. Yes I did have to pay 2002. per month. Any financial help go by your income.
