Northern California MS magazine had a story about a study out of UCSF looking at your gut bacteria and relationship to MS. It's also being run in Boston, New York, Argentina, and the UK. If you are interested, check out the website: http://imsms.org/?page_id=21 They are hoping to develop a way to treat your gut bacteria that will help MS. Could be interesting! I am an eternal optimist.

It is a truth that antibiotics destroy both good/bad bacteria in the colon.
The issue of “survivability” in the gut is an important one – probiotics will spend roughly four hours in the harsh environment of the stomach before traveling to the intestines where they are needed! Certain probiotic species, such as Lactobacillus acidophilus, L. casei, and Bifidobacterium bifidum, are too fragile to survive in the acidic gut as they have no protection against its acidic environment.1 - See more at: http://www.prescript-assist.com/intestinal-heal...

I believe in that stuff myself. My naturopath put me on that direction and I feel pretty darn good. Although it's just not cheap

There is a woman in Canada Pam Bertha she wrote "Become a Wellness Champion". She is big on diet especially against antibiotics that is messes up our bacteria in our gut. She has a website and is on Facebook. I've bought the book and liked her on Facebook. However to join her group to get one on one help for three months on the diet it was too expensive for me. But she maybe on to something! Just wished she would lower cost for all people with M.S. if she really wanted to help! She states she is now living symptom free of M.S.

I got a letter from UCSF about participating in this study. Seems interesting but I'm currently waiting on more info.
