I have two young children (5 and 4 years old). I am their primary caregiver and was diagnosed with MS almost 1 month ago. I've been hospitalized twice for a total of 6 days. Since my diagnosis, both kids have been told that Mommy has a cold in her brain and it lasts longer than when you have a cold in your nose. Both kids are regressing or showing signs of anxiety. Thank you so much! This will be a great help. We weren't given any resources like this, we were just given a pamphlet on child anxiety and told to get them into therapy if they needed it. I really appreciate this and will sit down tomorrow and read it cover to cover.

Do you or someone you are close with bite your nails. When I was anxious my then two year old started to bite his nails which opened my eyes to me doing it. He still does and he is now 12.
Kids adapt in different ways during their lives. My teenmonster has always known that I have ms, and is frustrated that I can't play sports fully with him. However he has accepted it well in other ways, and seems to be proud of my achievements. He is also a teen monster with temper and sulks. And stubbornness to fit the bill!
