I'm 34 with two kids aged 4 and 6. I'm battling with constant MS symptoms and I'm slowly losing my ability to walk. I'm struggling to keep up with my kids so just wondering how other moms are dealing with everything?
I have an 8 year old son and am currently listed as relapsing remitting, but the MS specialist said that I am either right at the edge of becoming secondary progressive or have already entered it. I have had MS for about 24 years now (was diagnosed when I was 19). I definitely understand what you are going through. Every day is a struggle! I homeschool my son as well. He is able to do his schooling online through a public charter school. So that has helped me. We don't have to leave the house at all on days I just can't get going. I find that driving a car uses up so much of my energy, so being able to stay at home helps. Do you have any family members or friends that can help you with the kids when you are having a particularly bad day? Also, I try to plan ahead and have things available for my son to do that don't need my help; special coloring books, books to read that he likes, Lego projects, Discovery Education videos, etc. When my son was younger, he spent a lot of time learning & playing educational games on a program called ABC Mouse.
I am 26 yrs old and I have a 6 yrs old son that has been diagnosed with ADHD and ODD. Everyday is a struggle for him and me. I feel so bad bc I am so limited on playing with him. I find myself being so snappy towards him. I can't help it but I just feel so guilty. I hardly ever have a day without any kind of pain or my anxiety takes over my day. Somehow I manage to still do my wife/mom duties and I'm thankful for me being able to push on.
It's hard kids just don't understand and the adult don't want change we look fine thus we'r fine
Hi Julie , I remember when I first had ms, attack came on pretty fast over the summer, my kids were 5 an 7,, i really feel for you,, now my kids are 34 and 32,, we all survived somehow,, thanks to periods of remission,, Red Cross, friends and my doctor at the time, dr Paquette , he is the best
Hang on that was ;)
