Do you suffer from depression and how many pills do you take for it. My dr had me on three meds for anxiety and depression. I stopped taking Welbutrin. Just dont like taking so many pills.

this is Donna's husband. she has MS and a major seizure order. I've known her 47 years..she gets depressed very often because she repeats herself and can't remember things after just a few seconds. i try to just answer her questions and fill in the blanks. she is a state liscensed social worker and is not able to work anymore. the doctor's frown on medication anymore because of all the drug abuse but she was never a drug addict and her spasms are bad.she has me for a support system and as her in home caretaker..everyone needs a support system for their depression. remember killing yourself affects everyone in your life.just remember your life matters and no matter how depressed you get things will get better. Donna talks about it and i put on her country music channel and sit with her and she forgets about it.. put on some good music call a friend call a family member go to a support group. you have a disease it is not your fault that you feel that way..everything will get better and that feeling will pass. i hope everyone depressed from their disease can tough through the manic episodes like my sweet Donna has endured since 1993..I will pray for you all and thank you for listening. remember you are not alone she is my 9th MS patient since 1985 only this time it's close to home.

Didn't mean to hit send. If your depression is anything like mine, always keep in mind that it does go away for a while and there are so many MS sufferers out there experiencing the same thing we experience. We are not alone in this fight. Do not take ir personally because depression is an equal opportunity side effect to MS. When you are in the middle of it, it is hard to see that. Lean on God and he will always get you through. There are too many people that love you to be thinking your not important to anyone. Just remember that like the other symptoms of MS, the depression will subside and you will think "it's over, why was I thinking that way". There are so many people rooting for you on this website as well. So don't be shy in letting it all go and telling us about it because we are all here for each other. Stay strong my MS Warriors! πŸ’—πŸ’

Depression has been me for a very long time. Like many I suppose, on a scale of 1-10, it varies widely for me. Thankfully I have not been suicidal....although....I have screamed when no one is around...WTF is my purpose of being here??? So many things have gone wrong in my life & this is Before I was Finally diagnosed. Ironically, things have Improved after being diagnosed...just being HERE...Is Proof that I am Not alone And I am in Very Good company & for that, I am FOREVER Grateful. Through my go to hobby, & trying to raise awareness...I feel like I have a sense of purpose. I'm even active at a local Y for aqua aerobics which keeps me physically active & I get to be with fellow MonSter Warriors...& to me, that means EVERYTHING. For once in my life, I AM theee MOST Pro Active EVER. I'll admit, I did go to a therapist because I was dealing with other issues, not MS, for I was Not diagnosed at that time. My therapist did say I was/am dealing with depression & even suggested medication for it.....NO...I ended it...I Already know of TWO that took their own lives (granted I KNOW that their is more to the eye with it, I'm dealing with ME) So...in my mind...I figured, what I (maybe Us MonSter Warriors & others) really Need is someone to be able to talk to about our problems. This combined with my hobbies, which I am Passionate about & the right people...I do NOT need medication for. I'm doing what I'm doing & this is what works for me. One thing I did get out of going to a therapist is, WHEN you have a problem or issue, no matter the size...Find Someone you feel comfortable to talk to about it with...nip things in the bud BEFORE it grows. If You're Able...feed that triangle of physical, mental &spiritual. This is what I Do & it's working for me.

I've had depression/bipolar for many years and have been on many many medications on and off. At the present moment I am on two types of meds and they have worked great for the past 2 years, however none of that works if I get an MS flare up only because I would have to depend on others. Thank the God's I have not had a flare up in 8 years.
