Yeah got that crap when I was dx too. medicate, medicate, medicate until you can't work because you are medicated and too loaded to work. Then the boss writes you up for your inability to do a job and says you have a drug/alcohol problem which affects your work. Then you either get fired or pushed out and still don't have an income. My recommendation is NEVER go to see your doctor unless you are off your meds for a couple of days then he truly sees you in your worse state of affairs and always state you cannot work and care for your child. Keep doing it. GO TO HOSPITAL INSTEAD OF YOUR DOCTOR WHEN THINGS ARE BAD. IT IS SOOO FRIGGIN SAD THAT WE HAVE TO SUBJECT OURSELVES TO PLAYING GAMES SO WE CAN PROVE TO THESE A----HOLES THAT YOU REALLY CAN'T COPE ANYMORE BECAUSE YOU AARE SO DAMN SICK!

My DR said he would recommend it for me, but I read several places online that I might still have a harder time getting it because of my age (and I'm 44!), so there must be some statistics on that. I will probably be going that route soon and will let you know how that goes. Hang in there! It's so frustrating when you want to work and can't. I absolutely love my job, and when I had to go on leave it was a very hard adjustment. I don't think I fully realized how much of my identity was heavily linked to my professional successes. XX

"They " say 50 is the number that it's easier to get disability. I was 51@ dx. I got disability but it's been 2 years and I still am so sad about "retiring" from being a critical care nurse. I'm quite depressed even still.

I have just had an occupational health consultant face to face meeting not long ago they try to explain to work that your not fit for work and are unable to and also states that they can not tell them when you can. Only thing is tho applying for ESA and pip is a nightmare I have been without a penny since march 17th I am having to go to a tribunal soon ad rather be at work but like you say it is too hard for most of us every day is different and most days is hard for me especially with fatigue bowel and bladder problems back ache and neck ache vertigo dizziness ect ect x
