Foot Drop, Again!
I had an EMG and the results were negative, does that mean i do not have foot drop?
Like i mentioned, I think many of us have problems in some way with lifting our feet, some who have that nerve effected, they literally cannot lift, have 0 dorsi flexion. As in my case, I mostly have problems when my legs go into exhaustion, do beyond my limits. I can point my toes up at will, but once I reach that point of having to really concentrate on walking I drag a foot. While it may seem to be foot drop, it's not necessarily requiring a orthotic remedy, I'm speaking of my case. I'm sure if your doctor feels you can benefit from an orthotic remedy, he'll suggest it, or he may feel physical therapy would be enough. You should ask him your options.
I take Ampyra for that, worked wonders for me and stopped it completely.
Sorry, I stand corrected, it is neuromuscular, but foot drop involves the nerve mentioned above.
Hi @A MyMSTeam Member, thank Goodness I’ve never had foot drop as yet to be honest, but if I do and there are any tests in the future you would be the first person to know, I hope God will your test has come negative 👎 and you don’t have any foot drop, so there is one less problem, my prayers are with you. 🙏. All the best
I wear a foot drop on my right foot. Physio said she’ll order me a Bluetooth one which sounds really great. Hate wearing it though. Hope you don’t have to wear one.
