I do not have a definite diagnosis of MS yet but my neuro *believes* I have it because I have TM partial. I didn’t have bands in my spinal tap but did have elevated protein. He didn’t use the word lesions on my brain but “spots” whatever that means. I have a lesion on one side of the spine at c5/c6. I have lived in agonizing pain from polyneuropathy in my left leg, a right leg that feels like its encased in concrete that has no strength and a right arm and hand that has periodic numbness and… read more

My MS journey began with being diagnosed with TM initially, went 4 years with that diagnosis until I had a flare which led to a 2nd lumbar puncture, first showed no O bands, 2nd did show them, that & the flare moved the diagnosis to MS even tho I did have a lesion initially.
At times I truly feel drs use Transverse Myelitis until they have enough to diagnose MS whether it be with lesions, o-bands etc. occurring.

of course!! well I'm not in charge here but we all are super nice. Besides that sounds very much like MS . . . I have read that sometimes transverse myelitis turns into MS later on . . .
and many of us have questions about a definitive diagnosis

I sure hope you will be able to feel better and have some improvement in all of your symptoms. It can happen I am sending hugs to you and said a prayer now. . . . .

Typically MS lessions appear in the brain and cervical spine, However MS lesions can appear any where along the spinal cord. Suggest you discuss this with your doctor and perhaps even get a second opinion particulatly if your doctor isn't a MS Specialist. There's also the possiblity that you have MS as well as . Transverse Myelitis.
