As I understand it, the lesions for lupus are more elongated and thats all I had at first, were spinal lesions, but not elongated! Lupus was ruled out as well.

My neurologist and rheumatologist aren’t sure whether I have lupus or MS. I have had lots of positive ANAs ranging anywhere from 1:80 to 1:640. I’ve also had mildly positive anti-double stranded DNA which is specific to Lupus.

But I have innumerable white matter and brain stem lesions. And I have a great grandfather who apparently died of MS (or complications due to MS). And a grandmother who had all kinds of medical issues and trigeminal neuralgia. She was never officially diagnosed with MS, though. She eventually gave up trying to figure out what was wrong with her and she committed suicide.

Anyway, I’m still in the testing phases and haven’t even had a spinal tap yet so I guess we’ll see.

I have positive ANA and was sent to a Rheumatologist..diagnosed with scleroderma which is a load of poo. Now I have MS. So..I do think its a signal of some auto immune issue.
