Lexapro?

Lexapro?

Is anyone taking lexapro for anxiety? If, so, what has been your experience with it? Side effects when starting it and how long did it take to start working?

I have been on Lexapro 10mg for about a year now. I actually started taking it for anxiety and was then diagnosed with MS 5 months later. It took about 2-3 weeks until I noticed a difference and I have not had any side effects. It has really helped my anxiety, my family even noticed the difference. Good luck.

I was on it for 10 yrs then had a test done to see what drugs work for my genes. I believe it was called “genotype” It came back as one of the worst for my body chemistry. They swab your check. No wonder I was still always anxious and kept upping the dosage with my doc’s approval and really didn’t feel like it was working. I now am in no anti- anxiety or depression meds. However, I do use Valium to calm down anxiety when needed. Good luck, as you know everyone is different!

That’s a good idea to take your time and wean off your other med and wait for your grandkids to go home. I’m sure you will be great, but it’s best to be prepared mentally to start anything new. Prayers for you.
