@A MyMSTeam Member great idea to try them one by one! That's what I do when I try something new - and if I don't notice improvement in 30 days, on to the next one! There are some basic protocols that you can find online that are good for MS. XX

@A MyMSTeam Member do you have a list handy of all the vitamins/herbs/supplements you take? I'd love to compare it with mine, as I am mostly a homeopathic gal (or at least I've found the most symptom relief through those avenues)!

@A MyMSTeam Member have you considered seeing an integrative medicine DR? They are fantastic and that's why helped me tailor my supplements for my specific needs. My blood levels are all back in normal range now. I take most of what Joanne takes - but I have sensitivity to flax seed. I take a bunch of others too as well as a number of detox teas. Definitely seems to help a lot! Seeing the integrative medicine DR really helped me learn to live on a new path - and now I'm able to treat everything holistically since I'm very sensitive to pharmaceuticals. I am still on Tecfidera which is tough for me to handle, but my DR wants a few more years of no new symptoms before I experiment with that. XX

Complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) therapies for Multiple Sclerosis (MS) include a variety of treatments that can be used alongside or instead of traditional drug therapies and Western medicine approaches. Here are some key points from the knowledge base:

Types of CAM Therapies:
- Medical Marijuana:
- Proven effective in treating spasticity, pain, and urinary problems.
- Available in various formats such as lozenges, sprays, edibles, topical ointments, and products for smoking or vaporizing.
- Legal in 21 states and the District of Columbia, with pending legislation in eight other states.

- Herbal Therapy:
- Gingko Biloba: May be effective against fatigue.
- Bee Venom Therapy: Not effective at treating fatigue or promoting quality of life.

- Magnetic Therapy:
- May be effective in treating fatigue.

- Reflexology:
- May help in treating paresthesia (abnormal skin sensations).

Other CAM Approaches:
- Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM): Includes practices like acupuncture.
- Biofeedback: A technique to control bodily processes.
- Hypnosis: Used for various therapeutic purposes.
- Meditation: Mindfulness training for mental well-being.

Considerations:
- Effectiveness: Some CAM therapies have been proven effective in clinical trials, while others have not.
- Side Effects and Interactions: Some treatments may have side effects or interact dangerously with other medications.
- Placebo Effect: Some improvements may be due to the placebo effect.
- Insurance Coverage: Coverage for CAM therapies varies by insurer.
- Legal and Cost Constraints: Legal status and out-of-pocket costs can be barriers to accessing certain CAM therapies.

Important Notes:
- Consult Your Doctor: Always inform your doctor about any CAM therapies you are using to avoid potential interactions and correctly interpret side effects.
- No Cure for MS: CAM therapies may help alleviate symptoms but cannot cure MS or alter its progression. Disease-modifying therapies are the only treatments proven to slow disease progression.
