I admit that I haven't simply because I'm so tired of doctors. It's been entirely too long and new symptoms are emerging. I know I'm getting worse with my memory. But at the same time. I really don't want to know.
I guess I'd say it depends. I know that doesn't help but it matters how long you have stuck to your DMD and how it's treating you. When you start a new DMD I think once every 6 months is a good rule of thumb so that your neuro can evaluate whether the DMD is working or not. If your doc doesn't recommend a med switch you be OK lengthening the time between MRIs. Remember, the idea of an MRI is for the doc to determine if the DMD is still working. I'm not a huge fan of doctors either but that is what is happening
Getting one in October-November...I get super-duper "high" before I go, to chill for 2-3 hours, depending on whether or not they will be giving me "contrast". I have always had an MRI at least every 3 yrs.
My roommate smokes and eats edibles instead of valium or whatever? Your welcome!! (My advice to him)
STAY STRONG!
Every 6 months, but I must say, now with these concerns with the contract agent, I might have to rethink the procedure. There was a thing on fb with the attorneys for a lawsuit for people who've had issues with the contrast. They had a 5 Q&A survey to see if you qualified for the possible settlement. I took it just out of curiosity and the last question was, of course, if you'd been diagnosed with an auto immune disease... because I answered yes, I didn't qualify. Al the questions on symptoms from toxic poisoning from this contrast metal used ran parallel to symptoms I have with MS. Raises the question in me on whether my symptoms are intensified because of this? I don't know and I guess it obviously can't be determined. Soooo now i guess is where being my own advocate comes into play. Do I say no to the contrast MRI especially if I have no new symptoms
One person put it the way I've thought all the time. All an MRI is going to do is say yea or nay to more lesions. Nothing can be done about them anyway.
I also get it once a year. There have been years when there was the activity I would get it twice a year.
