I recently have started to get acne on my back which is very weird for me. I read somewhere online about zinc levels being to low has anyone heard of this and does MS cause low levels of zinc ?

I have noticed that I am much more sensitive to lotions now. I never used to break out anywhere - and I actually got an infected cyst (OMG gross!!!!) on my back last year from a bad reaction to massage lotion. I will never put lotion on my back again - essential oils only! I have also noticed more face acne too - Tzone & jaw-line. I never used to get acne...and I'm 45 years old! I wondered if it had to do with some of the hormonal work my acupuncturist did with me. Many things are WAY better now (menstrual cramps/flow, etc.) so it was worth it, but definitely the acne is annoying! Thanks for giving me something to think about and research! Will let you know if I learn anything helpful! FYI, only other new thing for me since this started happening is that I'm on Tecfidera now. Are you, by chance?

I started with bad skin since I was diagnosed with ms I have had to go in lymecycline antibiotics because I used everything from cream after cream to cleansing ect even the acne creams even pro active everything. Since been on antibiotics they had cleared up a hell of alot I didn't want to take anything for my skin ad I am funny about taking things but it got me down I am still on them as I still have a few I go back to the doctors Friday. I have never had spots as bad so I know what it's like x

Theres this awesome gel called, Differin gel. You can get it at walgreens etc. Used to be by prescription only. Works well. But not sure about the zinc thing.
