I've been taking Copaxone for a year and have one new brain lesion on my latest MRI. I'm happy with Copaxone and really don't want to go to an infusion for now. They're scheduling an MRI in ~6 mo. but neuro is talking a switch to Tysabri. Seems to me I can wait and if there's nothing new on the 6 mo. look then stick with Copaxone.
Surely one lesion (not two, three, five) doesn't mean my DMT is failing. It could occur even with a successful DMT, right? Also, this is the first new lesion in… read more
Have you ever had relapses? Its odd to be diagnosed without them. But you can have new lesions even without feeling new symptoms because they sometimes occur in places in the brain that won't affect you as much or at all. I think the point is that if you have a new lesion it means the possibility is there for more damage while there are stronger drugs out that there that could reduce that possibility. This time the lesion could have been harmless but the next one could be a large relapse, you never know. But personally considering side effects and everything and how well you are doing on Copaxone its a tough decision! Switching drugs is a big deal.
I say they come from worms.

Yes it is. None of the MS drugs have helped me. I'm trying the wahls protocol and trying to get rid of any nematodes in the brain and spine.

@A MyMSTeam Member: I haven't tried Bee Venom. Sorry those drugs are taking such a toll.
@A MyMSTeam Member: The neuro also mentioned Tecfidera. I should have included that earlier. Neuro didn't say anything about Gilenya.
I've been diagnosed with RRMS, but to my knowledge, I haven't had any relapses. Although to be honest I'm not sure what a "relapse" would constitute. I feel fine overall & no better/worse with Copaxone, except for having to inject 3x/week.
Any other thoughts?
Thanks and Happy New Years to all!
My neuro also says that even 1 new lesion is bad and suggests a therapy isn't working. Even if its just one. I don't fully agree it means to automatically switch therapies but its definitely a warning sign. How do you feel overall? Have you had relapses? Do you feel worse overall compared to when you started Copaxone? And why Tysabri as an option, why not Tecfidera or Gilenya?
