Fatigue Lassitude
I'm experiencing non- stop fatigue, as in sleep alright(magnesium very useful), but never feel rested. Good diet, vitamins etc, light exercise, but feel as if I'm shrouded in a fog.
Know fatigue is well known symptom, but seldom heard of it being so overwhelming all the time.
Anyone got any comments and or tips as to how to 'combat' it?
I say that, when I'm so tired that I often just want to sleep.
I think the fatigue is as bad as you describe for most. It reminds me of when I had mononucleosis. The bone crushing, never ending fatigue. I never feel rested. I could spend all day in bed and still not feel rested. I start the day feeling a bit less tired than when I went to bed the night before, that's it. The way I deal with it is to have an F-you, attitude. F-you exhaustion, I'm just going to force myself to go and power through as much as I can. I also let myself take an afternoon nap if I need it and try to do yoga and stretching. Meditation also helps too. There might be a medication to help but I am not a big fan of adding on more medication for my body to process and the side effects that go with that. Good luck.
If you try a nap try a short afternoon power nap. Sleeping too long during the day can leave a foggy feeling. Sounds like you are making a great effort.
Stay busy!!!! That’s the best way to combat the fatigue besides what you’re already accomplishing. Good luck!
@A MyMSTeam Member you are SO right. I'm still learning to be a better listener - but it's definitely getting better as I do! :-) XX
ARGH! The constant fatigue! I'm right there with you! I have tried some meds to help but found that they are too strong for me and I ended up being awake for 2 days straight. Now I have 5 mg. ritalin and can take 1/2 pill early in the day. This helps me stay awake and still be able to sleep at night but I don't take it very often. My schedule is already far too screwed up!
