Just got results from my recent MRIS. New lesion on the corpus callosum, which apparently is the cause of me having literally every MS symptom known to mankind. Wrapping my head around “long term progression.” Anyone else have a lesion here?
Yes, I have two lesions there, I'm lucky. Honestly, I felt the same way you do. I was very nervous and scared when I googled it. I have had them for 10- 15 years, can't remember exactly. I don't think I have noticed much because of it. My MS doctor who has followed me for 16 years never really scared me about it. I will be seeing her next Monday and will ask her about it. The one thing I have noticed is my cognitive abilities have declined since getting MS. Don't get me wrong; I have other symptoms as well. Please if you want to ask me anything else please do.
@A MyMSTeam Member, my doctor, said that is a very common place for MS lesions since there is so much white matter. Not a really big thing.
The location of the lesions also matters for diagnosis. While lesions associated with multiple sclerosis can appear anywhere in the brain or spinal cord, they occur more frequently in specific locations, such as near the corpus callosum (a bundle of fibers connecting the two hemispheres of the brain), perpendicular to the fluid-filled ventricles, or in the brainstem.
Don’t know locations. My walking detiorated and New MRI showed activity on spine. Doc said pick a med since I had stopped monthly roids. Chose Ocrevus. Hopeful it helps.
