Anybody had Lemtrada? How long ago & have you had any side effects? Ive heard as the years go on you are more likely to develop kidney disease, thyroid disease etc. Kinda scared.

i've just heard it increases risk of hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke and tearing of the arterial vessel walls in the head and neck, also known as arterial dissection. But I know there's risk/reward.
The side effects do scare me a bit but my MS nurse told me one her oatients on Lem has been relapse free for 7 years now so all we can do is hope :) i was just curious to know if there was anyone who has had lemtrada more than a year ago, if they have had any side effects after year 2,3 etc?? X
@A MyMSTeam Member, I had Lemtrada first doses for 5 days September 2017, which I did have some issues the 4th day & they had to stop treatment but I was able to come back & complete the 4th & 5th day. The side effects from September 2017 was weight gain from steroids,because they have to give steroids before they start Lemtrada, & I had anxiety & fatigue.
I had my second doses of Lemtrada for 3 days September 2018 & I did pretty good. Still had some weight gain from steroid. Had blood work in February 2019 & my blood work was good.
Prior to starting Lemtrada I prayed & I felt the Peace from God so I went with it.
Hope all goes well. Do what you feel is best for you & pray🙏 for God to lead you in choosing a treatment you feel is best for you.
