Does Anyone Stick To A Specific Diet And Absolutely Know It Helps And Without It MS Would Bring In More Surprises?

My dietitian has told me there is not a diet she knows of, but everywhere else I am reading it says certain foods must be avoided.

Yes you are right about a diet and a cure for m.s.[that would not be true] But with that being said, with our disease we are at high risk for other things. So more fruit, No processed foods. Greens and plant based. Fiber, nuts, minimal meats. Looking at fresh , grown items.sodium intake. I also had a stroke last year to add to m.s. sodium inake ,reading labels a pain at times but worth it. My cholesterol is under any issue now, no pre diabetic. This was a year of changing eating habits. Excersise in any form everyday. I hope this helps

@A MyMSTeam Member the subject of diet has long been fraught with controversy lol! There are those who vehemently swear by one thing and someone else another. Just know that scientifically, there has not been any particular "diet" "proven" to "cure MS". Though, as said, you'll be bombarded with such claims if you start searching online.

Down to basics, yes, drink lots of GOOD water. Your tap water may be perfectly fine (mine is), if you filter or drink bottled water, do make sure it's got minerals, etc. in it. Distilled water does not and your body needs the minerals.

Don't eliminate all fat from your diet. Omega-3 type fats are good for MSer's brain health.

Generally speaking, the Mediterranean Diet is currently being touted as the best, all-around good diet for everyone by the health community. Of course, if you have allergies or sensitivities (true food allergies are pretty rare and an allergist can test for that) don't eat it lol! 😎

Plant based has saved me!! I could just about get from my bed to my sofa and needed a nap after. I use to get 1 hour awaje to every 2 asleep. No joke... 5 months later i did my whole wedding day, danced until midnight!! I feel better symptoms vertually gone. I still ger little things but not even close to before! Please try it! What have you got to lose!?
