I love milk and drank a gallon a week. I had heard that it has inflammatory properties. And had heard recommendations to not have it when you have MS. I refused to give it up. But about three weeks ago I decided to try it.

After exactly three weeks, I noticed an amazing difference...
I could walk faster! ...And move with more agility! ...I could even talk faster! ...And I have more energy! And it feels like my brain is working faster, too!

I learned that there are all kinds of plant-based… read more

Wonderful!! You are so right! I learned back in the 90s that cow's milk is not good for people. (just do a little bit of research) Milk is species-specific and only good for baby cows. We cannot digest it and cannot assimilate it. You get way more calcium from raw almonds and white beans, broccoli, ETC . . . .
Milk is NOT a good source of calcium since we cannot assimilate it. Sadly the powers that be (dairy industry and our agriculture-government and big money) have gotten a very firm grip on selling the fallacy that milk is good for you and you need it for calcium-since the 50s. The "5 food groups" is not even right oh don't get me started. and then GMOs!! UGH!
I think people with lactose intolerance are lucky that their gut is rejecting cow's milk. The baby cows need it. I hate that they are stolen from mommy cows in order to sell milk to people. They are being fed corn or grain but they naturally eat fresh green grass. Causes cows a lot of problems so they use antibiotics it's awful . again, I am trying not to go off on a tangent. Stopping now, thanks.
It is well worth your time to do some research- anyone who doesn't know this.
Also, cow's milk produces mucous.
Sounds familiar, doesn't it?
What I am saying is well documented and factual anyone might like to read up on it and find out for yourself. Including the mucous-a good place to start.
Those other milks are so good and full of nutrients . . that you can digest and assimilate . . . try them and find which one you like best. My daughter just made oat milk today in her Vitamix wow it came from oats I didn't even know about that one.
There's rice milk, soy milk, cashew milk, almond milk, oat milk and maybe more.
I have always liked to tell people about this and tend to jump in every chance I get. Enjoy trying these other milks. By the way I sure do like chocolate soy milk once in a while!
Hugs to all!

Well I have drunken real milk all my life, even straight from a vat on a dairy farm, and I have done a serious IQ test and it has not changed (at least I hope not) from pre MS days. However I also know some have a bad reaction to dairy products and I feel sorry for them but understand their situation.

you can always find alternatives like you were saying and try them out. you never know they not that bad. also you can always talk to your ms dr. and see what he or she has to say. they may recommend as well. what i was reading sounds interesting.

Oh, my! to do or not to do dairy! I still consume 1% dairy milk alongside other dairy products minimally. It's all a personal preference subject, I don't judge. I found a cool article on said subject, I think it's pretty good reading: https://www.nbcnews.com/better/health/plant-bas.... To stress less is best! Peace and wellness MS Team Family! ^o^
