By chance, does anyone know how to deal with MS pain and herniated disc pain? I have one in the thoracic spine and my overall pain level is a 12 everyday.
Have you seen a spine specialist/neurosurgeon? Despite my former MS neuro insisting that the feeling like a brick was tied to my left foot, plus my worsening instability, pain, foot drop, walking, etc. was all “due to the brain lesions”, the herniated disc was pressing on my spinal cord and causing swelling in the cord. The MRIs even showed the herniation worsening over time. I had surgery and could not have wished for a better outcome. The heavy-brick feeling was gone immediately after surgery. I’m able to stand straight and go for walks every day. The only pain now is the lumbar (which also needs surgery) but PT is helping with those issues - more than I ever would have given it credit for, so I’m hoping to hold off as long as I can. I can see why doctors have different specialties, so don’t give up hope just yet. Even the first “spine specialist” was an idiot. Her report had “evaluations” with perfect range of motion/gait/stability. It contradicted everything I was dealing with and every doctor and neuro I’d seen. She hadn’t done any of the evaluations, so I called and asked how. She said “I didn’t evaluate you because we don’t treat MS. Quite frankly, I wouldn’t even consider surgery on someone like you.” Talk about a slap in the face...
I'm so sorry to hear you are in such pain! That sounds similar to me right now too - constant stabbing pain. I finally went to a physiologist (referral from neuro). They sent me to Physical Therapy right away. It's painful, but gotta say it's helping a LOT after 3 weeks. I still have the stabbing pain, but it isn't constant now, just very frequent, and still horrendous if I twist as all when I move. BUT, it's so much better than it was! They also gave me baclofen which helps, especially when taken in concert with my MMJ at night. Hope you find some relief soon!!! XX
I have tried just about everything and finally had to go to A pain center to get help, the only thing that works for me is Methadone. I still have pain but helps enough to get through the day. And I pray a lot I could not make it through a day without my Heavenly Father by my side. Hope this helps have a good day. God Bless🙂
I pray for your strength and pain free forever
