Is hematuria (blood in urine) common or sometimes associated with MS? Thank you in advance.

I went to ER Sunday for right arm pain and pins and needles feeling in my hand. Ekg normal, enzymes normal. I also asked them to check my urine, it was positive for hematuria and they said I have a UTI. 😵 Started Cipro, follow up with urologist tommorow.

No, it's more associated with a kidney infection. Go to the doctor

No it isn't normal. We have bladder issues which can and do cause kidney stones, and UTI infections that can cause hematuria. Don't wait to be checked for infection. Good luck and feel better.

Went for over a year with blood in my urine (microscopic, only shows when my urine is tested) never showing infection. Did cystoscopy last summer, Dr found and removed over 50 polyps above my bladder. He said probably from past I fections, couldn't really give me an answer. Anyway, with recent ice-pick migraines and dizziness, just wondered if maybe I should go back to neurologist. Sorry to ramble...

Check with your doctor. You may have a UTI; however it's a good question as I had trace RBCs in my urine with no infection. I am on Tysabri. I will check myself.
