Is This Stress Or Something Else?

A MyMSTeam Member asked a question 💭

My severe levels of stress are getting to me which caused extremely low blood pressure on and off, from it being normally high by stress too?

What is happening to my body has anyone else this same problem?

I’m getting this low blood pressure on and off with horrendously scary thoughts if it’s something else instead. Not sure what’s MS and not anymore as my brain is just beyond saturation on coping with this. Has my mothers death been contributing to this low Blood pressure, even though I’m… read more

My goodness! I don't know what has caused this or that, but it sounds like you need to talk to someone. Try your family doctor, a nurse through the MS society, or perhaps a family member. Good luck! And take a deep breath...

Stress can do amazingly complicated things to our body. Perhaps meditation or even wheelchair yoga would help.
Take care of yourself.

Sorry to hear of your troubles. I have had low pressure most of my life. The last 3 weeks I had a migraine every day, on routine. I really tried to isolate 1 variable at a time and see what worked. First off, reliance on medication is always a huge hindrance to proper recovery - your body is compensated for. Obviously it can be necessary but my point would be to try to ween yourself off once you find an effective holistic replacement. I have a draw filled with medication my Doctor has prescribed, luckily it will expire before an emergency. every single problem I've fixed on my own through proper nutrition, meditation, and exercise, and i've been really bad the past year. I could barely walk 6 months ago, and Im back to taking 2 steps up the stairs at times. There are still tiny flare ups, but I've isolated their causes and effects. Still working on this, and it's a long path ahead in regards to this process but I wish the best for you and always remember; the more you listen to your body, the more it will speak to you. I felt like I was going to die the past few weeks with these stress headaches, but the meditation really did it for me, as well as writing stuff down and prioritizing where my thoughts should be.

Proper daily hydration (extremely important)
Supplantation/Nutrition (extremely important)
Sunlight / Vitamin D
Stretching / Meditate / Calm for 45mins daily.
Exercise 20min daily, minimum

These steps have improved my quality of life dramatically.
