Thoughts On Provigil?
My dr has prescribed provigil, but my insurance has required a prior authorization, and I can obtain it for 40 and circumvent the whole process. Is it worth it though? I'm ready for a nap at noon, but we all know naps dont help.
I take the generic version modafinil&I was told just take it when I need a boost&I can take it on a low energy day&walk2couch&sleep like a tooper! I took it on just a ok day&felt like need boost2get some stuff done&I thought it felt like it kicked in&started making my list of things to get done&I couldn't concentrate or think I just sat with pen in hand&stared at the notebook & then tried just do some daily things&same thing! Finally I got so upset I just went2sleep! Good luck hope works better for you!
I sleep a lot. Become exhausted very easy. My insurance would not cover my meds for migraine.. I contacted the actual company and they give it to me at zero cost
I was prescribed nuvigil (similar drug) I have to jump thru tons of hoops to get it but wouldn't survive without it. If I take it regularly it doesn't work as well as if I take it as needed for days I'm really needing it. I only take half a pill and have to take it before 9am or else I'm awake til 1am. Days I don't take it I'm asleep between 12-4 (uncontrollably ). I was out running errands once and got soooo tired I fell asleep at a stop light.
I hope you get the results you need.
I've taken Provigil off and on for years. My neuro started me on Amantadine but it did nothing for my fatigue and made me feel weird. I tried Provigil and never looked back. I take it now only as needed because I'm on lots of vitamins and supplements that help with my fatigue. Provigil allows me to be more alert and focused. It does tend to give me headaches though so when I do take it, I take a 200 mg ibuprofen chaser.
