My neurologist wants me to switch from tecfidera to mayzent. Any info on side effects or pros and cons. I am concerned with the side effects of the eyes because I am already blind in my left eye. Any infor would be greatly appreciated. Ty
Hey Wolfgang. I taught kids for over 20 years so I figured I could teach myself sign. As far as my sign language goes. I use Dr. Bill Vickers lessons on you tube. Then to build my vocabulary I love to sign songs. The words I don't know how to sign I look them up. I use sign savvy online. It's basically a dictionary. You type the word in and they show you how to sign it.

My eye is really the least of my concerns. I have all female organs, my whole large intestine, my gall bladder, and 95% of my stomach. I can't talk anymore but I taught my self sign language which helps me a lot. I'm not one who complains. I'm just hesitant to switch my meds because it can effect your eyes and I don't want to be blind the rest of my life. I appreciate you writing even if you couldn't help me out with question. It's nice to meet new people

@A MyMSTeam Member I’m curious about something, did your neurologist ever test for NMO Neuromyelitis Optica? Researchers determined they are two entirely different diseases and you cannot have both at same time. They also found that taking any MS treatments when you have NMO can make it worse, there are NO effective treatments for it.
This was just discovered last year, so if your optic nerves are at least involved, your neurologist is now supposed to test for NMO, previous patients can turn out to have NMO because testing wasn’t really done for it much before then. Here’s a link to more information:
