Treatments

Next week I go see the MS neurologist and talk about other treatment options. I have done the ocrevus infusion. I am allergic to it so now I have to find another treatment. I'm looking to see what others recommend. I don't care the form (pill or injection) just so I can talk it over with my Dr and so I can read about it.

I'm on gilenya now, seems to be working for me, been on it 3 years with no major relapses and much prefer taking a pill once a day than the needle options. The only side effect I have had is at the start some minor hair loss

I've been on Gilenya since my diagnosis in 2019. It has worked (no new lesions and no active disease on last MRI a few months ago). There are a few hoops to jump through before starting - an eye exam - Gilenya brought a table top machine to my home for the exam. It only took about 20 minutes for set up and exam. They (Gilenya) monitored me for 8 hours after my first dose. They came to my house and just sat in another room and then checked my heart rate/blood pressure about every 30 minutes. They say you can go on with your normal day while you're being monitored - working from home, yard work, cooking, watching movies - whatever your normal day at home would be. I had one of my daughers come sit with me for the day - it was a nice visit! My insurance covers my medication luckily. I love the one pill a day and have never had any side effects. I hope the same for you - good luck 🧑

I take an infusion really similar to ocrevous but not ocrevous, Rituximab. Just twice a year. I've heard it is the same drug as Kemstentra but don't quote me on that. That is a periodic shot
