I can not get comfortable, from back, to front to side to side. Sleepless nights tumbling trying to get comfortable. Recently purchased new mattress, but this is not the one. I feel like Goldenlocks and the three bears. Lol Foam is not my friend, because I can't wait for it to completely rise back after moving. Beauty rest is a little too firm for me. Any suggestions?
Yes, I suggest sleeping with your torso and head slightly elevated. To do this I turn a king size pillow length wise, and not crosswise like normal. I place one end of the lengthwise pillow at the small of my back. Then I add a second pillow crossways directly on top of the first pillow. Then, I use the third pillow to tent my knees. Place it in the crook of the knees. It props the knees up pretty high. You want your knees to make a slight triangle in relation to the bed. Avoid making a more straighter line with shin and calves, or it will be uncomfortable. A slight bend in the knees is needed supported with the pillows. I never had to sleep with three pillows until the MS worsened.
If I sleep on my side, I need a pillow that holds my head up high enough to be in perfect alignment with my back. I do this position by doubling the pillow onto itself under my head, I also use a squishy pillow to cushion my knees to keep my legs level with both sides of my hips. Hope these suggestions helps you, too!
Hmmm... maybe I will look into that one. The weighted blanket sounded good when I first seen it in stores, but then I thought about how one minute I'm cold the other I'm hot and just want to be naked.. lol keep me posted on how it works for you.
I ended up purchasing a tempurapedic mattress. I havent been able to sleep flat for years and the investment has finally brought sleep back to me for most nights. I also just got one of the weighted blankets hoping it will help with constant tossing and turning but the verdict is still out on it.
Haven't found a mattress that works for me. BUT I use a heating pad on my lower back, with a pillow under my knees. For my head, I use a pillow that helps my neck and back align (can't think of name right now). When I turn to my side, I move the pillow between my knees, and sleep in fetal position. It's not perfect, but it helps me a ton. And as I have traveled, taking a heating pad with me and making sure there are extra pillows has helped. ❤
Is it a bed issue or fatigue restless spasms or the like of insomnia. A calming cup of tea with honey works for occasionally. Just suggestions.
