SSDI Getting Medicare Early, Need Advice Re: Part D Or C Or Advantage Plans

Because I will be receiving Medicare under the age of 65, I know that I will need to get a Part C or D olan to help with the cost of our very expensive prescriptions and the other 20% that Medicare does not cover. A lot depends on what state you're in. In my opinion part c plans do you no favors. Thus all the advertising. Its a very complicated process and my advice would be to reach out to an insurance professional that is trustworthy. " Yeah i know" . Under 65 the only gap plan you are eligible for is a " plan D' not a part D which is prescriptions. In many cases especially here in NJ there is help with prescription plans but you may have to sign up first so that its known what you actually need help paying for. I would suggest making some call to insurance professionals licensed in NJ and feel them out. If you feel pressure in any way, especially to sign up for a part c say thanks but no thanks. In order to protect their license, advice/options should be given without trying to sell you. That type of relationship, like any other professional relationship is a personal thing. I hope this helps

I don’t know if this helps any but I went from receiving Social Security Disability, joined AARP @ 55; at 62 (I think) was put on straight Social & signed up for AARP Supplemental Insurance. The first 2-3 months of each year I have been pay a co- pay for my MS medication of less than $10.00, then 0 co-pay. I am also indigent, only income being Social Security.I also receive $20.00/mo Foodstams. (Yeah, Inknow!!!😕.)
