Did I Do Something Wrong By Telling My Daughter Who Has MS That I Am Reading MS For Dummies?
I just texted my daughter who is returning to work today that I’m reading MS for Dummies. I didn’t get a response. What should I do or not do? Am I overstepping boundaries?
Of course you should learn about MS! Your ability to understand what your daughter is going through is very helpful, for both of you It helps with communication during an unknown disease. Good luck😀
I'll just say you're being a "good" mom by thinking your child would think twice about you reading an interesting book about MS. Your daughter started a new job today which means, to me, she's really busy or her attention is on her job and doesn't yet want to be the person answering text messages on her first day. I get it's tough but her lack of response to your text isn't its content. As someone with MS, anything you might learn is just a bit less than I know about MS and I have the bloody disease! I'm not saying some might get offended, but I say KUDOS!
I, think it is great of You to want to know more about MS !!!!
You're probably reading too much into this.
You’d know the answer to that best but I would jump for joy if some of my family would take the time to actually understand what this disease does and how it affects me. Being supportive is never a bad thing imho. Since she’s returning to work today, she might not have been able to respond to the text. She might be trying to decide how she feels about it. Educating yourself may help her in the long run. good luck!
