Has anyone ever heard of this? With not saying anything to me my dr put this his notes as my condition now. I am looking for another doctor.
I just scrolled down and came across this, too:

I don't remember where I came across this article, but that's how I learned about smoldering MS:

Hi Sandy,
I’m not on any treatment as yet as I’m pregnant. Baby is due in October. I will be starting tysabri in November. I’ve had 2 lots of iv steroids to quell the symptoms, which they did. Pregnancy is having a positive impact on relieving all symptoms.
Prior to pregnancy I was using a stick on and off and only able to do a short walk around 3-5 minutes and the id have to sit down and rest for a minute and then I could walk a further 3-5 minutes. Now I can walk carefully for about 25-30 minutes without a break. I was a marathon walker prior to diagnosis! Life changed in about a 2 year time span.
Hi,
I was diagnosed with secondary progressive ms. At 51 years My consultant labelled it as smouldering as I don’t seem to have any flares. Just very very slow progression with no real breaks from symptoms. It is difficult to get information on smouldering ms. I think it went undetected for so long, that the lesions were just smouldering without any major changes to my brain or body. It gives me huge hope that smouldering really means very slow progression. I see it as a positive part of my future with ms. Trust in life that a smouldering fire can’t do too much damage and will hopefully go out eventually! P
Smoldering MS is damage occurring without flares or exacerbations. It is inflammation that is not easily detectable. Many people have smoldering MS when they go SPMS.
