I just had a bone density test. I got the results yesterday. My bone density is so bad that I need treatment, and I need to be extra careful to not fall. I'm just wandering if MS with all the inflammation it causes , can also cause Osteoporosis?

One thing to tell you is that there is a great drug for this, prolea , 1 injection every 6 months, and it actually works to increase bone density AND most importantly, reduce your fracture risk!

No MS doesn’t cause your bone density test to be low, but the steroids they give you do.

I think it often could be likely due to steroids and decreased physical activity plus add some nutrient deficiencies like D, Mg etc.

As far as I know I do not have any problems like that, & believe me if I did all the doctors would let me know.
