Baclofen helps me with direct open nerve pain. Like an open nerve in your teeth, ..I was taking gabapentin, n went to pregablin, which has been very affective for me. I am not a neurologist, but sometimes we take too many of the same kind of drug. You can also talk to your pharmacy on mixing drugs. Flare ups happen, generally dissipating n not remaining a permanent disability. These are my ideas..your new Neurologist will be able to direct you...have a really good day

I went to bed, I woke up the next morning and it fell like someone was stabbing me in the head with an ice pic, Excruciating horrible pain. I could not get into my neurologist for a few weeks, So I had to sleep sitting up on the sofa and watching every move I made. When I got there, he confirmed it was TN. He started on 1200 mg Gabapentin, 300mg every 6 hours. My savior! The drug that is. It's been 7-8 years and I'm "stab-free". MS since 2000. So I have MS, TN, IBS, OCD, PMS, haha, just MS n TN for me.

I find stress is a big trigger for me as well as concentrating as it causes me to clench facial muscles- I often put heat on my check ear to try and relax the muscles
