I was planning to wait and work on diet, activity, and more natural supplements but I'm getting scared, honestly. My Dr wants me to read up on Tecfidera and Ocrevus but isn't pushing.

Thank you all. It really does help to have people with real world experience as I try to research, and I appreciate you all for taking the time to share. There is so much information, and conflicting information, that it gets overwhelming.

Starting MS treatment early is important for managing the condition effectively. While lifestyle changes like diet and exercise are valuable components of MS management, disease-modifying therapies (DMTs) play a crucial role in preventing relapses and slowing disease progression.

The first year after diagnosis often involves working with your healthcare team to find the most suitable treatment option. It's normal to feel scared and uncertain during this time. If you're considering Tecfidera, here are some helpful tips for success:
• Start with a slower titration schedule under doctor supervision
• Take medication with foods containing healthy fats
• Allow 8 hours between doses
• Common side effects like flushing and stomach issues usually improve after the first month

Many MyMSTeam members share that while starting treatment can feel overwhelming, finding the right medication early helped them better manage their MS long-term.

I am on Ocrevus, have been for a little while now. I call it my medical miracle, it suppresses the immune system and the disease itself. When I started I was walking with a cane. I only use my cane when I walk a lot, like a big box stores such as Walmart. I have had great success with Ocrevus.
